The Gold Coast

Sunny, but chilly, and we have to bundle baby

Zurich is truly golden today after four days of stormy weather. The snow (which was on the ground since my arrival) has been washed away by the rain, and it feels like spring (well...) Daphne must be a sun lover like me because after four days of having a stomach "bug," she was miraculously happy and relaxed today. Lale and I took her out this afternoon to the side of Lake Zurich that I didn't see on Saturday. It's the ritzier of the two because it is the sunnier one, hence the "Gold Coast." The other side is jokingly called the "Cold Coast" (yes, both in English, otherwise it wouldn't really be funny). Going by car in Zurich means trouble when it comes to parking, so we ended up at the Sonne Hotel in Kusnacht, where Lale and Morgan had their wedding reception- not that this made it any more legal, but it made it feel better. We relaxed with ducks by the rocks, enjoying the view and the glorious sun on our faces (not Daphne's because her skin is half Irish).
